The perfect starter kit for your first hydroponic grow!!! Kit incudes your Root Spa Deep Water Culture (DWC) Bucket System, Hydroton (clay pebbles), your root riot starter cube, and Air Stone.

The Root Spa Single Bucket System is a Deep Water Culture system. This 5 gallon bucket system is very simple, yet it grows large plants efficiently. After a very short time, you will realize the advantages of this uniquely easy-to-use, inexpensive, and forgiving system! Pumping raw air into the nutrient solution, without the use of air stones, is not only cost-effective but is also highly effective at providing the maximum possible oxygenation for your nutrient solution.

  • Water tight seal to guarantee no leaks.
  • 8″ bucket basket to hold your choice of growing medium.
  • Multi-purpose air hose delivers air from the pump to the bottom of the bucket.
  • Air pump to oxygenate your water to encourage root growth.
  • ½” grommet fitting.
  • ½” elbow fitting.
  • ¼” black tubing.

Clay Pebbles are our go-to choice for media! Your kit includes enough for your bucket system + some extra!

Air Stone included is to give your plants some co2! The Medium size is perfect for your single-bucket system.

BRH Beginners Guide to getting your kit started!

1. Prepare Your Root Riot Cube:

  • Soak the Root Riot Cube in water until fully saturated (20-30 minutes)
  • Give it a gentle squeeze to remove excess water.
  • Place your seed about 1/2 inch down into the cube.
  • Cover the seed by peeling a piece of the cube over it.

2. Monitor Root Growth:

  • Within 4-8 days, check for root development. Once the roots are long enough to stick out from the bottom of the cube, it's time to move to the next step.

3. Transfer to Your Bucket System:

  • Place the Root Riot Cube into the net lid of your bucket system.
  • Hold the cube in place with the net cup and add clay pebbles around it to secure it in place. Be sure the roots will get hit with water as the water bubbles up (note: you do not want the roots immediately soked in the bucket — hovering will do!)

4. Set Up the System:

  • Ensure that the roots are just above the water level.
  • Fill your bucket with clean water.
  • Attach the airstone to the tube and drop it into the water. Once the Air Pump is plugged in, you will see the AirStone causing your water to bubble (this is what we want — yay for O2!)

5. Maintenance:

  • Clean and replenish the water every 10 days.
  • Add nutrients as needed, following the instructions provided with your nutrient solution. (We recommend Technaflora, Advanced Nutrients, and Fox Farm)!
